Thor 3 Movie Already in the Works

Sif-Jaimie Alexander

Thor: The Dark World (Thor 2) has been out for just a few days, but a third installment of the superhero movie franchise is already in the works.

Jamie Alexander, who plays Sif in The Dark World, says the success of the movie has prompted Marvel to begin work on Thor 3. Thor 2 made more than $100 million in its opening week, making it a bona fide success.

“I hope [the fans] enjoy the movie as much as we did making it,” Alexander said at a Comicaze 2013 panel, adding “I can only pray for strong numbers, because when there are strong numbers there’s going to be a third one.”

Alexander even expressed an interest in a standalone movie based on her character Sif.

“I would love for there to be a spinoff film,” she stated. “I would absolutely say ‘yes!’ If the fans want it and there’s a strong enough desire for it, it will happen. So, fingers crossed!”

A Sif movie is an interesting idea, but the character’s lack of prominence in the Marvel universe will make her a difficult sell to the masses. Wonder woman on the other hand…

Final ‘Avengers: Endgame’ Trailer Has The Avengers Go To Space

Poster of last surviving Avengers in Avengers: Endgame

The Avengers go to space to take on Thanos in the final trailer for “Avengers: Endgame.”

Whereas the first trailer showed Stark stranded in a spacecraft, low on both oxygen and hope, and the second trailer showed him back on Earth, the third and final trailer sees him re-assemble the Avengers to bring Thanos to justice and save the universe.

The one-minute clip is light on details, but we are reminded of the team’s mantra of doing “whatever it takes” to try and undo the damage caused by the Mad Titan.

We get a scene with them zooming past planets in their spaceship, the Benatar, and another showing off some slick new white Avengers uniforms. The trailer closes off with a face-off between Thor (Chris Hemsworth) and Brie Larson’s Captain Marvel, fresh off her blockbuster standalone debut to help out the desperate Avengers.

Whatever last-ditch plan they managed to put together will surely end in a big bang. How do you want things to turn out?

The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt

There are up to 50 actors in the promising Netflix Series, least of which is Man of Steel’s Henry Cavill as the iconic White Wolf.

Henry Cavill wasn’t kidding when he expressed a desire to join Netflix’s The Witcher.

The British actor, best know for playing Superman in the Man of Steel and Justice League movies, is a fan of both the fantasy novels and CD Projekt’s RPG series, letting it be known that he would love to play Geralt of Rivia. His wish has come true.

Freya Allan (Into the Badlands) will star alongside Cavill as Ciri, Geralt’s adoptive daughter in The Witcher series, while badass sorceress Yennefer will be played by Anya Chalotra (The ABC Murders). Yennefer is also Ciri’s mother figure and Geralt’s true love.

Here’s Why Carnage Wasn’t In The Venom Movie

Venom vs Carnage - Spider Man

Most comic book fans expected Carnage to be the main villain.

The nut job villain was originally intended to be in the Venom movie, but director Ruben Fleischer chose to exclude him in favor of another symbiote, Riot. There is a reason for that.

In an interview with CBR, Flesicher admitted that its the keenness of fans to see Carnage that led Sony to keep him out of the first movie and save him for the sequel. He stated:

“I think, you know, there’s a certain symbiote spawn that I think fans are most excited to see. So that one was off the table. Hopefully at some point in the future they will. So we wanted to save kind of the most anticipated one for the future. And not just that, but because we really wanted this movie to be about Venom.”

As for why he chose Riot over the dozen or so symbiotes that exist in the Marvel universe, he explained:

“…it was just honestly kind of like, who’s the coolest looking spawn who isn’t that one? The most badass, you know? That’s where Riot came from. He’s the biggest of the Life Foundation symbiotes, he’s got that gun metal grey. I don’t want to say it was purely an aesthetic decision, but the aesthetics definitely played a big part.”

Cletus Kasady, Carnage’s host, actually makes a very brief appearance in the mid-credits scene of Venom, setting the symbiote up for a starring role in the sequel. And speaking to CinemaBlend about the cameo, Fleischer stated he couldn’t envisioned anyone other than Woody Harrelson for the role:

“He was the first person I thought of to play Cletus Kasady. And what will be fun is, if you think about Woody in Natural Born Killers, and that darkness and that menace that he can bring to a serial killer like Cletus Kasady, you know, he can go real dark and explore that.”

Like most comic book fans, we can’t wait to see Venom and Carnage clash on the big screen, but leaving out the crazed symbiote in such a pivotal movie for Sony was a risky move. It’s a good thing Venom was a box office hit, surprising as it may be, despite receiving mixed reviews from critics.
