Ernie Hudson Will Be In New Ghostbusters

Published

Ghostbusters, Ernie Hudson

Ernie Hudson, one of the stars of the original Ghostbusters, will make an appearance in the new Ghostbusters movie, which has completed filming.

Hudson played Winston Zeddemore in the 1980s films and previously expressed concern over the idea of having an all-female cast:

“I love females. I hope that if they go that way at least they’ll be funny, and if they’re not funny at least hopefully it’ll be sexy. I love the idea of including women, I think that’s great. But all-female I think would be a bad idea. I don’t think the fans want to see that.”

Do you share those sentiments?

Hudson has since changed his mind, telling THR that the four actresses involved were “Four fiercely funny, foxy, females busting ghosts,” and “phenomenal!”

Staring Kristen Wiig, Melissa McCarthy, Leslie Jones and Kate McKinnon, the new Ghostbusters movie releases in July 22nd, 2016, and will also see Bill Murray and Dan Aykroyd make appearances.

Toyota Celebrates Back to the Future Day, Recreates Marty McFly’s Truck

Back to the Future Toyota Tacoma

October 21, 2015, was the day visited by Back to the Future Part II, and to pay homage, Toyota recreated Marty McFly’s famous truck from the classic movie.

When people think Back to the Future, the first thing that usually comes to mind is Doc Brown’s time-traveling DeLorean. Now, while Marty’s 1985 Toyota pickup is by no means the car star of the franchise, it too enjoyed a level of notoriety that has made it nearly as timeless as the DeLorean.

Toyota’s recreated dream truck is 2016 Tacoma with quite a few extra bits that mimic the look of Marty’s ride. Key highlights include vintage headlight and taillight designs, custom 1985 Toyota truck paint, KC HiLites auxiliary lights, an off-road suspension, TRD wheels, and a custom tailgate featuring the “TOYOTA” logo.

Front and rear tubular bumpers, a custom light bar and vintage 1985 Toyota truck mud flaps round out its spiffy design.

As cool as Marty McFly’s recreated, 1985-inspired Toyota Tacoma is, it will likely never be made, and no amount of time traveling or wishful thinking is going to change that. Sorry, Back to the Future fans.

New Ghostbusters Movie is a Total Reboot With Funny Women

Paul Feig new Ghostbusters movie

Director Paul Feig has shared some details about his plans for the new Ghostbusters movie. Not only will the film be a total reboot of the Ghostbusters franchise, but it will also star very funny women.

Speaking with EW, Feig — the director of The Head and Oscar-nominated Bridesmaids — revealed that the new Ghostbusters movie will not be a follow-up to the original 1980s film, but rather a reboot featuring women as the titular ghost-fighting heroes. He has in fact enlisted The Heat‘s writer, Katie Dippold, to write the script with him.

With regard to how he is approaching the new Ghostbusters, Feig told EW:

“I thought, well, what if we just make it new? It’s not coming into the world that existed before. It’s always hard if the world has gone through this big ghost attack, how do you do it again?”

“I wanted to come into our world where there’s talk of ghosts but they’re not really credible, and so what would happen in our world if this happened today… Everything is up for grabs right now.”

For those wondering if the new Ghostbusters movie will take place in a totally different world, it will have a modern setting with modern technology and social references:

“I look at this the same way a superhero movie launches where it’s always fun to see, like, what are they going to do with the costumes this time? What are they going to do with the hardware this time? It’s not going to be, here is the exact same stuff. It’s also not going to go, screw you if you like that stuff, it’s all completely different. We’re going to have fun with it, but again, bring it into our time period.”

And then there is the whole “issue” of the original Ghostbusters being recasted as female characters…Feig is apparently baffled that such a notion is even a talking point:

“I really cannot believe we’re still having this conversation,” says the director. “Some people accused it of kind of being a gimmick and it’s like, it would be a gimmick if I wasn’t somebody whose brain doesn’t automatically go to like, ‘I want to just do more stuff with women. I just find funny women so great. For me it’s just more of a no-brainer. I just go, ‘what would make me excited to do it?’ I go, ‘four female Ghostbusters to me is really fun.’ I want to see that dynamic.”

What do you think about the direction Paul Feig is taking the Ghostbusters franchise? Does the new Ghostbusters movie sound interesting? Let us know in the comments below.

Baymax, BIG HERO 6

Disney animated movie Big Hero 6 has received a new trailer that focus squarely on Baymax, a bumbling robot that may very well be one of the most lovable and cuddliest ever to grace the silver screen.

Big Hero 6 is an action comedy adventure that follows robotics prodigy Hiro Hamada, who finds himself in the midst of a criminal plot that threatens to destroy the fast-paced, high-tech city of San Fransokyo. With the help of Baymax — his closest companion — he joins forces with a reluctant team of first-time crime fighters on a mission to take down the bad guys and save their city.

While Baymax might be a lovable but bumbling buffoon by design, a quick armour upgrade by Hamada turns him into a badass robot that anyone would be foolish to mess with. See for yourself:

Directed by Don Hall and Chris Williams and co-starring voice actors Ryan Potter, Scott Adsit and Jamie Chung, Big Hero 6 hits theaters in January 2015.
