Colin Farrell / Paula Patton Seeking Lead Roles in Warcraft Movie?

Word of Warcraft Arthas

We are sure fans of the Warcraft series are stoked that their adored computer game series is getting a movie adaptation, but the movie enthusiasts among them are on the edge of their seats wondering who the lead actors and actresses will be.

Warcraft — if that’s what the movie will be called — will be script by Charles Leavitt and directed by Duncan Jones, the director of award-winning science fiction films Moon and Source Code. According to a Deadline report, he is considering Colin Farrell and Paula Patton for the lead roles, although he may not get his way.

Patton is said to be in advanced talks to join the production, while there is a 50/50 chance that Farrell will make a deal. As such, Jones is still testing other actors.

For those unfamiliar with Warcraft, all the games in the series have been set in and around the world of Azeroth, a high fantasy, medieval-like setting, similar to that of the Lord of the Rings. It includes many fictional races and factions, but the most important have been the Humans, Orcs, various Elven races and the zombie-like Undead.

Produced by Legendary Pictures, the movie will apparently be based on the World of Warcraft massively multiplayer online role-playing game — you know, the game that has taken the lives of more than a few addicts — is expected to go into production in January 2014. A released date has yet to be announced.

First Justice League Trailer is Entertaining, Heavy on Humor

Justice League movie

Warner Bros. dropped a lot of great content at San Diego Comic Con, including an impressive first trailer for Wonder Woman and a teaser for the Justice League movie.

In the case of the Justice League trailer, it makes a very good impression. It’s heavy on humor between some of the world’s greatest superheroes but a little light on action, indicating a tonal difference between Justice League and Batman v Superman.

We also get a our first looks at The Flash and Cyborg in action — let us know what you think about their design…

I gotta say, after watching the trailer, I am much more optimistic about Justice League. Let’s just hope the finished movie is as entertaining.

Justice League: Part 1 is scheduled to hit theaters on November 17, 2017. It is directed by Zack Snyder and stars Ben Affleck, Henry Cavill, Gal Gadot, Jason Mamoa, J.K. Simmons, Amber Heard, Ezra Miller, and Ray Fisher.

Wonder Woman movie

At San Diego Comic Con, Warner Bros. revealed the first trailer for the Wonder Woman movie, giving comic book fans their first taste of what actress Gal Gadot’s powerful heroine will bring to the DC cinematic universe.

That’s right, after many false starts, a live-action Wonder Woman film is on its way and it looks better than we could have imagined…

What do you think?

Wonder Woman is directed by Patty Jenkins and stars Gal Gadot, Chris Pine, Lucy Davis, Connie Nielsen, Robin Wright, Lisa Loven Kongsli, Danny Huston, David Thewlis, and Saïd Taghmaoui. It releases in theaters on June 23, 2017.

Second Doctor Strange Trailer Even Trippier Than First

Doctor Strange Movie Poster

Doctor Strange, one of my most anticipated movies of 2016, has received a second trailer, and it’s even trippier than the first one.

Revealed at San Diego Comic Con, the new trailer sheds more light on Stephen Strange’s journey from a mere surgeon to a powerful sorcerer on a mission to save the world.

Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch) and the Ancient One (Tilda Swinton) are the main highlights, but we also get an extended look at the movie’s main bad guy, Kaecilius, who is played by Mads Mikkelsen.

See all three of them in action in the trippy trailer…

I will be interesting to discover how Dr. Strange’s adventure impact the rest of the MCU. We suspect Marvel will use it to tie together the supernatural and downright fantasy elements (e.g. Guardians of the Galaxy) to the slightly more grounded, sci-fi events of The Avengers‘ world.

The Dr. Strange movie releases on October 28, 2016, in Europe and on November 4, 2016, in North America. What do you hope to see?
